Honestly it wasnt that expensive imo, I worked for the paint/body guy a few weekends and a long week to drive the cost down some as well as a bunch of the sanding and prep at his direction.
I know not all painters will work with customers like mine did, I had recommended about 6/7 new customers to him and two have been completed already. I will share the love with an excellent job to everyone I can!

My suggestion is to get into as many clubs as you can and make friends, some might be a painter!!

Re: Rebirth of Clyde

I understand being swayed by the cheap part, I have 2 of the 4.8's sitting here now I picked up cheap for projects.

Re: Rebirth of Clyde

When I got my ls, no one wanted the 4.8’s I too grabbed two others, they have less than 10k on them. The lot was under $1500 with all accessories, harness and PCM.

Now they are almost as much as a 5.3!

Re: Rebirth of Clyde

The prices for a 5.3 or a 4.8 in Iowa have jumped in the last 3 years. I think a 4.8 only makes around 20 hp. less than a 5.3. Atleast that's what I was told.

That’s what I have seen around me as well. The 2005 4.8 that I have was rated higher than the 99-2002 4.8’s and this is another reason why I chose to get the 2005 4.8.
