Re: facebook group

No politics, just conspiracy. =-) FB is the walmart of online world. Open up, entice people in, then jack the prices once all the independants have dropped out. Face book is trying to get everybody to do everything there. Total control of your online habits from their origins of simple messaging to now being the place to buy/sell stuff, and unfortunately, trying to horn in on what is served bettery by traditional forums such as this one. They control the narrative, and like the youtube/google machine, let machines do the dirty work based on poorly thought out rules that punish first, and trying to get some logical human intervention is next to impossible.

Re: facebook group

And on a positive note...

Pork butt was on sale for $.99 an lb. Then my son darts off to the beach leaving me and a 9 pounder! I cut it into 3 pcs. I put one in the crock pot with carnitas seasoning. I trimmed all the fat I could and still have a chunk of meat, but it still came out fattier than I like. It was ok, I ate it for supper and lunch, but not saving the left overs. I never do that! I learned a lesson.

I was working around here all weekend, so I put the next third, with a good seasoning rub, on the offset grille. I kept the temp at the higher end, around 250*-300*, because I was looking for "grilly" flavor more than "smoky". I gave it about 4 hrs. Had to remember to run back to the grill every so often. Came out great! Flavorful and juicy. MMmmm... The lesson I learned is grill the fattier stuff and no crock pot. I'll be eating ever last bit of this!

Sorry, I know it's a Facetruck thing to show pictures of what you eat, but I didn't take any pictures

So my plan was to do a traditional pork and sauerkraut meal in the crock pot with chunk #3, but that'll have to wait for a better cut. What to do with #3? Any suggestions? I'm thinking put it in a marinade and freeze it for grilling later.

Agreed, but the groups we have there serve to send folks back to the forums. Without them they would simply go to other groups. Some may still do so but it gives a chance to get our info out there

It's really frustrating when we can't send them here. The misinformation over there is overwhelming.

Does it have anything to do with this site showing as not secure in the address bar? Reason I ask is because I have been able to give links to other websites as recently as a month ago that were secure without issue? Just a thought as I do not know a whole lot lol.

Re: facebook group

I was thinking I was on the Facetruck thread, for some reason, when I posted my positive note. Sorry for the hijack.

I referred to this site there. My post was something like "FB doesn't allow us to link to the site for some reason, but you should check out 67-72 Chevy Trucks . com (or maybe spelled out dot), no gaps and all lower case. The guy says "Why the secret code?". I JUST TOLD YOU!! That's what I thought to myself, anyway. I started wondering if maybe I also become stupid when I go to the FB truck groups. People must not read whole posts and certainly not the whole thread.

I find that in all the truck groups I've visited. FB is more social than media for some. They don't read much but they sure can type
