Fuel sender question: What year did they change ohm?

Like the title says, what year did Chevy trucks change the ohms for their fuel senders/gauges?

I've got a buddy who restores gauges for a living, and he said it was '65... but I've not heard of anybody having a problem putting a '64 instrument cluster into a '65-66 truck, or vise-versa.

Re: Fuel sender question: What year did they change ohm?

GM cars did change from 30 to 90Ω fuel sending units in '65 so your buddy is correct when it comes to cars.

GM trucks, however, didn't change until '67. So that's why there are no issues swapping instrument clusters between '64/65 and '66 trucks.

Re: Fuel sender question: What year did they change ohm?

For the C10, it was the 1967 model year that went to 0-90 ohm operation.
