Angry When Trying to fix something only makes it worse

So over the last month or so my c10 started running hot.so i Checked the coolant level it was fine.but it had a green brownish color so I decided to flush the coolant system BIG MISTAKE.i drained the coolant.put distilled water and vinegar in the radiator ran it for 2 days with the vinegar in there. And next day I flushed the radiator and put in new antifreeze and a new thermostat all was good till next day when the freeze plugs started leaking.one behind the flex plate and motor mount.so.out she comes!

Re: When Trying to fix something only makes it worse

I know what your saying but I always look at it this way . It was going to happen anyway and I would rather it happen when I have better control of the situation rather than the freeze plug be rusted to almost nothing before you detect it and it blows out and dumps all the fluid when your 100 miles from home . You did speed up the process a little but I always feel lucky when I fine a problem before it puts me in a bad situation .

SO not a big mistake in my eyes . Get some brass freeze plugs to replace them .

So Finally after a hour of pressure washing the inside of the block I got all the mud out and then I realized the mess I had made.

there was about 2 to 3 inches of mud in block.probably had something to do with the PO running water in it.
