I did the same to mine awhile back. As trends go, I'll admit the look has some appeal, but trends are just that, and the current everything going low thing will eventually die.

Good 25 year run for trend. Although tweed and billet aluminum was a trend. It's easy to spot when certain hot rods or customs were built by looking though.
I remember back in the 60's only certain people lowered their vehicles. That became a style embraced world wide.

Do it! The truck looks great either way. If it's a full factory stock restoration I probably wouldn't, but if you do drop it I wouldn't worry about it just being a "trend". It's been a trend for a long time and I don't see that changing any time soon. Wheels, interiors, paint styles, etc. all change but low is always cool!

Is there a way I can see a pic of my Suburban with a 3" rear end drop? I cant figure out the photoshop thing. I will get a side view later. I just had knee surgery yesterday and have been pushing it a little too much this morning. Thanks

I think your restoration looks better than any vehicle that came out of a factory in 1966. It is just unbelievable all the details you put into on your 8-9 year journey. Can't wait to see how your convertible comes out.

Your truck with a 6/8 drop, Porterbuilt 1" forward arms, paint matched 18" stock style 4 slot/hubcap wheels, and 1/2" or 3/4" whitewalls would be my all time favorite '64-66 ever.
