Daytime running lights

I just traded for an '01 Siverado and the daytime running lights won't work. I replaced both bulbs and the relay in the under-hood panel. I checked the 10 amp fuse adjacent to the relay and it's good. With the truck running in drive there is no voltage to the bulb socket. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Daytime running lights

Sounds like the previous owner may have been one of the people who disable them for some strange reason.

I assume this is the case every time you start the truck? There is a button along the headlamp button that disables them, but it resets each time you turn off the ignition

Arrow Re: Daytime running lights

Is the green DRL light illuminated on the insturment panel with the engine running?

You may want to look at the Emergency brake switch connector it may be disconnected or jumpered there cuz if you set the E-Brake with the Ing. in the on or run position it disarms the DRL's.

Re: Daytime running lights

Check the E-brake and make sure it's not pushed down a click or two. If you pushed them down a couple of clicks it would kill the power to the DRL's and not engage the brakes.

Re: Daytime running lights

If memory serves me right those also only come on when the truck is in drive. Put it in gear and see if they come on
