Re: Project "Hulk Jr"

Well I test fit the bumper. Looks pretty good. We waited til dark to see how light they are. For a little light with 18 LED's each. Very bright. Now time to get the bumper powder coated. Oh and get some carriage bolts and have them coated also.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"

Was able to drop off the bumper, bumper brackets, battery boxes, and tow hooks to get powder coated. Be a couple weeks. I also bought a powered subwoofer for under the seat and a center DVC speaker. Will be installing it this weekend. My son can't wait. Damn kids and bass!!!! Boom boom boom!!!

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"

A little update.

We were able to get the speaker under the seat installed. So he is happy as he has a little beat.

The powder coated bumper, hooks, etc are finished just have to go get them today. But Tuesday the truck lost 2nd gear!!!! Did I tell you guys this truck is haunted????
He said it broke a band or something inside. (I don't know trans that well) now he is going stage 2 with everything. (Whatever that means) I told him that I was tired of this $h!T he said he would take care of it as he was also tired of it.
But this truck has had a lot of weird stuff go wrong.
Hopefully I will have it back Saturday afternoon.

I want to put the bumper back on and wire up the lights.
Wish me luck.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"

Thanks Brett. I don't think its the engine. It's the transmision. It has a something completely different or a freak thing happen to it each time.
I think the truck is mad because it is shares it's name with the other truck and its a junior. Should have given it it's own name.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"

well I got the bumper installed and the LED lights but forgot to take a picture while it was in the shop.
This was a quick picture when it started to rain out side with the headlight and LED's on.

Looks like I need to upgrade the headlights to. They look a little yellow compared to the LED's....

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"

I disassembled an extra wiper switch and made it an on and off switch to control the LED's. I installed it in the choke location. So it looks like it's a choke knob.

I also got a picture of the powder coated bumper and lights in the daylight.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"

I didn't want to spend a bunch of money if my idea didn't work. But I picked up some of these Auxbeam lights. I got them in flood light since they were low to the ground. Not sure if that was a good idea or not as I don't know what the spots look like.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"

Got the tow hooks installed that I bought from a forum member. But I forgot to get pictures. Well good ones as these are from my son.
I also got the eyebrow trim installed. Finish off the front end. A little mix of chrome and black. I am thinking new deflecter h4 headlights. Maybe with green halos.

Oh I forgot to update the Transmission fiasco.
Yes I was able to get the truck back with the 4th rebuilt transmission. This time it shifts better(tighter) and seems to be OK. I did order a new TV cable as he said the cable was a little long.
I also ordered all new -6AN fitting and Russell line to replace the transmission lines.(one leaks after all the switching.....it was hard line to hose with a FI clamp)
Now will be all new from trans to radiator.

I think I am going to adjust the LED lights up a little. I also ordered new projector 65w headlight to replace the sealed beam headlight....

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"

So I went ahead and updated the transmission lines to russell proflex-6an line and fittings.
Seem to go together pretty easy and no leaks. Transmission seems to be shifting good.

Was also able to put the new headlights in.

7" refector style with green halos. Wired the halos into the parking lights.

I may add side marker lights to the truck. The side marker lights are light housings but there are no wiring. Just used as reflectors.

What do you guys think?

I kind of thought the same thing. But when the headlights are on you cannot see the green. They are overpowered by the headlight itself. In the pictures only the parking lights are on.
How's your truck coming along haven't heard from you in a while?
