90 model truck auto swap into 63 c10?
Buddy of mine just picked up a 90 model C 10. Will a 90 model automatic overdrive fit into a 60 3C 10?
Are there any modifications I'll have to do? Thanks for the advice in advance! |

Yes a 700R4 will fit into a '63 C10. You will need to remove the bellhousing crossmember and add a trans crossmember. A trans crossmember from a '63-'86 C series or '87-'91 R series truck or Suburban will work. Then you will have to connect the TV cable to your carb with the exactly correct geometry and adjust the trans pressures according to spec. If you do not setup the TV cable correctly you will burn up the trans in short order. There are many, many, many threads here in Engine and Drivetrain all about installing a 700R4.
