Picked up a new ride

I picked up a new ride this weekend. It's a '69 K20 from desert. She is a bit dinged up but absolutly rust free. I bought it off a guy in Indianapolis and drove it 12 hours home. Everthing made the trip Ok except my ears, there was blood running out of them when I got home.

I couldnt help but notice that youre from NR. Where about are you? I'm from Star Prairie and havent seen your truck around this area yet. It looks like you found an awsome truck. And what happened that made your ears bleed? Hope youre ok.
Heres some pics of my truck, maybe youve seen it around.

More pics in my sig.

Looks good...but why were your ears bleeding? If anything, you should be peeing blood from all the abuse your kidneys take making a long journey in a 34 year old 3/4 ton 4x4. lol

The exhaust is loud and the road noise with the big tires was unbearable after 12 hours. Actually buy the 12th hour it didn't sound that loud any more. LOL

69 GMC,
My truck has the same lockouts as your avatar. I had not seen that style until now.

'89Z71,
I live South of town about halfway between New Richmond and Roberts. Nice looking truck, that pic looks like "downtown" Star Praire, do you live in town? It's good to see more truckers in the area, The only other guy I know of is 'Class of 69' in Stillwater.

I'm right in town in Star Prairie. Do you know where the trout farm is? I'm right across the street from it. My dad has a small engine repair shop(Hillside Small Engine) and a snowmobile salvage(Hillside Snowmobile Salvage), so behind my house are two white sheds and alot of snowmobiles. If you look closer in the pics of my truck, across the road is the apple river inn bar(maybe that puts it alittle more in perspective). Anyway I hope to see you around and maybe we can talk trucks for awhile.

Nice Truck! Rust free is awesome!

Did that guy in Indy photoshop his pics of that truck on his site. I noticed the ends of the bumper have been extended to hid the dent and I don't see the extra gas tanks. Compare your pic to his. Interesting. I don't know the guy at all but I've heard conflicting stories about his honesty.

No, he didn't doctor the photo, I already torched the bumper extensions off to see what kind of damage there was underneath. The gas tanks are also there.

I think he is a fairly decent guy. He said it was rust free and it is. There were a few questionable things though, like when talking to him on the phone he claims to be an expert in all areas of truck options etc. and then when we were looking at the truck in person I got alot of "I don't knows". I also wanted a frame that was uncut and unwelded and this one was cut and welded on. The automatic transmission was also a retrofit which I got the "I don't know anything about it" answer for. I don't think an automatic was even an option in a 69 K20.

I can correct most of the issues that I have with the truck and, for the most part, I am happy with it. It is a nice way to get a Western truck without having to find one and get it back here.

Eric

P.S. Now that I have a truck that is drivable, I will be the one buying rustfreeclassics from out West and bringing them back.
