Auto transport review

I recently bought a 72 c10 in Portland Oregon but needed it shipped to Nebraska. I booked Montway Transportation to deliver the truck to me. After waiting for over a week and still not given a pick up date I contacted Mike Koberstein
Patriot Transport LLC

www.patriottransportusa.com
503 914 9859 And within a couple hours he had the truck picked up and 2 days later it was at my house. I am no way connected with his company or met him before but I would Highly recommend him to anyone needing a vehicle moved.

Re: Auto transport review

Thanks for the review! I recently bought a truck out of state and have been given the run around by a few brokers so far. Admittedly this time of year is probably the worst time to be trying to move a car cross country, but I'll be shopping around again if I don't have pick up booked in the next few days. Will try these guys for sure.

I agree this is a bad time of year because of the holidays but I think Montway was trying to be a fat cat and keep most of the money for themselves and give a small amount to the driver that is the reason they couldn't find one in my case. My phone was on fire with all the calls and e-mails from other brokers saying they had a driver in the area and when I replied and ask when they could pick it up they said they would have to get my info and would probably be 3-7 days ------ they all gave me the run around except the one I used

Re: Auto transport review

I ran my own auto transport business for 5 years. Most brokers are thieves!! They sit in an office and make phone calls all day and for that they generally keep 75-90% of the fee while the driver does all the real work. If you can, try to get with an independent for your transport needs. I would like to suggest a sub forum for transporters with reviews. That way, the guy doing all the work could be getting all the money.

Re: Auto transport review

Ranger Danger I'd love to work with a carrier directly, but there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to do it for someone outside the industry... Any tips?

Brokers seem to be taking about 15-20% from what I've seen so far, and I've got no issue with that... But its frustrating that once you sign their paper and hand over your payment details it becomes a "don't call us, we'll call you" situation. I just want my truck! If its going to take 2 weeks to find a driver, just tell me that so I know what to expect, and can let the current owner know what's going on, don't pressure me to DocuSign then vanish.

Just realized these have been my first two posts on this forum ever, been lurking/researching for a long time though (longer than I've been registered for), once I've actually got my truck I'll be more active!

Re: Auto transport review

I have a transport guy that I have used 3 times. He is out of Sacramento, but will travel across the country. His name is Chris and his number is 775-430-3305. Reasonable rates. He ca harmed me $700 to pick up a Suburban in Wyoming. He has a closed and open trailer.
