Seat Covers

My 68 IH Traveall is needing seats reupholstered but the cost of doing both front and back is crazy high!
I'm thinking of using seat cover instead. It a lot cheaper and it really doesn't look that bad as my T-all is used regularly instead of being a show vehicle.
Can someone recommend a good place to get a cover? I don't think the front seat is even original, so I'm afraid the new cover may not be a good fit? But I'm not sure about that.
Thanks for any help,
Joe

Re: Seat Covers

My front seat may not be original. How can I find out for sure (or what it's out of) so I can get the right size seat cover for it?

Re: Seat Covers

A picture of your seat would help. It's hard to guess what you have.

Here you go. The one torn up bad is the front seat. I talked to a guy who knows Internationals, and he said he has never seen a Travelall with a front seat like this.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Seat Covers

I have seen that pattern in the cloth part before. If I was to guess I would say it 's a Chevy seat. I hope with the Picture somebody with More Knowledge would step up. Good Luck , Have you thought about going to a Salvage Yard and looking for some better and matching seats?

Thanks for the help. So, how do you know what seat(s) would fit in it? I.e., how did the previous owner know the chevy seat would fit in an International Harvester frame?

I would like to get it back all original and I know IH is hard to find. I need to start checking the salvage yards. I've looked on the internet but so far I have found nothing.

Thanks again,
Joe

Re: Seat Covers

Here is a picture of the back of the front seat, notice the ash tray. I had a 72 suburban before and I don't remember an ash tray on the back. I'm thinking that it is an IH seat but the seat cover isn't. Maybe one of the Previous owners had it reupholster to that particular style? The foam feels firm which is surprising to me for it being almost 50 years old.
