Re: What could go wrong....part 2

I dunno. Many years ago I got 3 speeding tix in a week, all for 72 in a 55

Fortunately (I believe) they were all in different jurisdictions, so I paid all 3 on the same day, so each judge (local JP's) didn't know about the others. Otherwise each would have been progressively more expensive.

I miss the days of the local Justice of the Peace. Our guy ran the launder mat, so you had to go to launder mat court. It was kinda handy, pay your fines and wash clothes at the same time. It gave us plenty of time to get to BS'n about fishin' with the JP, and if you took cash money and somehow 'forgot' to ask for a receipt, chances were that ticket would never show up on your record

Re: What could go wrong....part 2

I see vehicles carrying brush all hung out like that all the time down in Howard County, an area full of well paid people with no common sense and a very over policed. Yet, never seen one pulled over for that. I've had a brush pile across the road in the woods ever since I've lived here, so can't relate. Just drag it or wheel it over in the wheelbarrow.

All this person had to do is take the same shears he cut that stuff out with then cut a little more into shorter pieces and that whole load would have laid in the bed w/o hanging out to draw the attention of L.E.O. No big foul in my eyes (except lack of rear vision), but that's what you get for being lazy. I haul a lot and often, in truck and/or trailer, and never been cited for that. Never lost anything on the road either. Load/tie down right and forget about it.

Ah yes, the ole justice of the peace courts. I have some funny tales on that

I am one who does not like to take the risk of having to clean it off a highway because of it getting loose from me.. I learned my lesson many years ago when hauling 20 sheets of that slick panel board we used to put on walls of our houses.. it went out the back of my truck like deck of playing cards all the way thru a busy entersection .

Re: What could go wrong....part 2

Dumb article. The only thing duct tape was used for is protecting the hull, there are righteous ratchet straps holding the boat down. Cribbing was required, as always, because of the keel. Using pallets might have been be fine if they did it right, although still not legit. Should be solid members. But putting under center for it to balance on is wrong. Should be a set on each side to cradle the load. Looks like a perfectly good trailer to me, why would they want to buy another for $1,500? I'm sure a trailer made for hauling sailboats would cost a a few dollars more than that.
