Dana 60 rebuild

We are getting ready to put the Dana 60 back together and where wondering if this part was necessary? We can't seem to find them anywhere. Maybe we will have to find a used set if we need them. Thanks for your help evan 396!Name: 14705740980211077363824.jpg

Re: Dana 60 rebuild

Its a dust shield. Although probably not "necessary", It is on there for a reason long term. When i built my Dana 60 from scratch i had too locate both of these dust shields. They are hard too find in good shape. I put a WTB ad on Pirate. Those guys toss that stuff if they think it holds in dirt, debris etc... I bought a spare set of those and the rotor shields just too have them for down the road.

For the hard core application it probably is no big deal as many will tell ya. I'm a believer if it was built with it on there it needs put back the same way. But I'm a sticker for details. lol

Good luck!
