HAS ANYONE HAD THEIR CLUTCH LINKAGE WEAR OUT AND HAD TO REPLACE IT? I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENT PARTS. ON MINE, THE Z-BAR WHERE IT MEETS THE CLUTCH ROD FROM IN THE CAB HAD GOTTEN WORN OUT. I TRIED SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT. I PUT A ROD END ON MINE. SEEMS TO BE WORKING GOOD SO FAR. JUST CURIOUS IF ANYONE ELSE HAS DONE THE SAME.

Yes, I have run rod ends......infact I am setting my 69 up for a stick , & will be running rod ends all 3 places....they work! crazyL

HEY CRAZYL, DID YOU HAVE FITMENT PROBLEMS BETWEEN THE LINKAGE AND THE HEADERS WHEN RUNNING A SMALL BLOCK ON THE 6 HOLE? I DON'T KNOW IF YOU NOTICED, BUT I HAD TO BEND MINE OUT TO CLEAR THE HEADERS.

After doing a tranny/t-case swap in my truck, I rebuilt the z-bar at the same time. Actually, someone has done some mods on it in the past as a different leg was welded on it. I was able to buy all the plastic ball retainers and felts still available from Chevrolet. I also don't have any clearance issues with headers running a big block. From that pic, it seems like it's a lot tighter with headers on a small block.

I replaced the pushrods with new ones, and I welded up the holes in the z bar and drilled new ones the right size and shape

I figured it lasted 300k miles the first time, this would be the last time I had to do it!

No, i didnt have any trouble fitting the linkage. I ran all the v8 linkage, shot through the same hole you show in the pic(screw in pivot ball in the foward hole in the block). I 6 position sets it back a bit, & I will be running the v8 block bracket this time(bellcrank behind the rear tube), & the firewall is cut for the 4th time in 18yrs.......the clutch rod will be a straight shot from the peddle arm to the bellcrank(custom frame bracket). the top arm on the bell crank has been replaced, &i will be running 3 rod ends. I have looked at all the options, & the Richmond ROD will fit without cutting the shaft.......6 gears in the box will have my right arm, & left foot working OT......with a big grin on my face
