Well its electron blue. I don't have the paint code with me, but I can supply that later. 1 gallon is around 350 dollars i think and 1 gallon of clear was over 100 dollars. Plus the activator and all the other goodies.

Re: 1967 C-10 LS POWERED Build

Haven't updated in awhile, but heres what I got. After fitting the headers we took them back off and pulled the transmission. I'm going to be overhauling it with a high performance kit from summit and I've already got an upgraded Sprag for it. Still havent decided what Converter to go with? I'm thinking around a 4,000 stall would be about right for my setup. I also went with a Holley Ultra HP 750 Carb and Holley fuel pump. Heres a couple of pics..

Re: 1967 C-10 LS POWERED Build

If you can wait until I get back from Oregon, I can put your combo in my Performance Trends engine analyzer program. It will give you a very good idea of what this combo will put out and where it will peak. If you are trying to get everything you can out of it in the 1/4, you will want a converter that is at peak TQ. Since you reminded me about commenting on your set up before, I relooked at it and would guess you are going to make peak torque upwards of 5k rpm. In other words, if you are trying to get the best 60' out of it, a 4k stall might be too small.

That's fine with me man. I appreciate it. My only thing is since its a stock bottom end I didn't really want to take it over 6500-7000 for now. Its kinda of a budget build in a since, and by that i mean i just cant go all out in every area right now, so i just thought if i was shifting around 6500-7000 i shouldn't go to big on a stall if that makes any sense lol.

Re: 1967 C-10 LS POWERED Build

Ok, I had a minute and modeled it. I used 10-1cr as I am not sure what gasket etc you are using. Stock L92 heads, singlplain with a 750 non vacum carb, 1 7/8 headers/30" long and the am is set on a 108 intake centerline.

Peak TQ is way up here at 5,700rpm = 438ftlbs
HP Peaks at 6,800 and carries it to about 7,100 = 519hp

Cool deal! The compression ratio is 9.67:1 according to GM service information. The cams center line is 110 and as far as the head gaskets. I just used GM factory gaskets and head bolts.

Re: 1967 C-10 LS POWERED Build

Very nice project you have there. I like that color very deep looking. I was wondering about the headers that you used. Did you have the do any grinding or cutting to the frmae to get them to fit? I a have a 1965 C-10 and I think that the frame is close to the same dimensions as yours. I seen other people have used Dynatech headers as well just not form that year range. Well thanks for any info that you could pass on to me. Have a good night.

Well for starters, the motor mounts that I have are home made. So i went with these headers for a couple reasons they aren't as high as dougs thorleys, and they look better in my opinion. all i had to do to my frame was take little slivers out of the top C Channel where the tubes come off the cylinder heads. Everything else is as you see in the pic. All you can do is order them and try it out honestly.

Re: 1967 C-10 LS POWERED Build

Well I haven't got much done here lately. I finally got my transmission built a few weeks ago. Called Dave over at Yank and got my converter ordered. Hopefully it'll be here by the end of this week and I will post up some pics of it and the transmission before the install. This last weekend we got the back glass put in and some little stuff like door handles and such.. here's a few pics..

Re: 1967 C-10 LS POWERED Build

great looking build. I love the blue with the rims, they set eachother off. Just something i have learned from my build, Get your rear suspension set up before getting it finished. Seriously, that power and stock springs/ shocks will not work. even if your just thinking about it in the future, get coil overs on there now. they will ride just fine and you can hook at the track when needed. Usually can find some for $150-300 each and do not take much work to put on. I wish i would have done it earlier in the build.

I hear ya man. I've been looking at a universal qa1 coil over setup for the rear. It'll definitely get done before I finish it. For me it's just a matter of money. One side job at a time lol!

Re: 1967 C-10 LS POWERED Build

Well this thing is coming slowly, but surely. I finally got my converter about a week ago and I also bought a SFI flywheel from yank. I got everything bolted in a couple nights ago. Been playing around with the exhaust. I hung some 3 inch straight pipes and some elbows just to see how it would look. We had the stuff laying around so its cost effective lol! Well here's a few pics of the stuff..
