In need of some experienced alignment help

I have taken my truck to the alignment shop and have been told I need to do something different.. I have a 72 static drop 5/7 using 3 inch springs and western chassis 2 inch spindles. I will attach a pic at the bottom but as you will see there is a lot of negative camber.. Alignment guys says he doesn't think he can put enough shims in there to bring it out and if he can he said he wouldn't feel right about running it like that.. When the truck was apart I took it to the frame shop to make sure all the specks were right.. I have ordered a set of one inch narrow lower control arms from Porterbuilt but am wondering if that's necessary bc I see so many trucks running the stock arms with what seems to be about the same stance.. Any info or opinions would be awesome

I would try a different shop and see what they say.

How much camber is it? Is your alignment guy aligning it to the original specs? When I did mine (not lowered) I just made up my own specs. I set it at -.25 camber, +1.5 caster, and it toed in just a little, and it drives pretty decent. I'm sure your camber is more negative than that, but it may not wear the tires abnormally. I'd get a second opinion.

I believe Moog makes a Upper Control arm shaft kit to address this. Check them out for parts, those things are not that expensive.

Ask me how I know this? They have an offset to address the lowering issue therefore you would not need all the shims.

Mine is 5.5" up front and 6' in the rear and I had mine done no problem. I'm using the older CPP 2.5 spindles with 3" springs.

I would definitely try another alignment shop before I start spending $$$ that may not be needed.

My 72 short box had 2" drop coils and 2.5 spindles and the most camber we could get out of it was -.25 on one side. Any lower and we would have been negative on both side i bet over 1 degree. 3" dro coild have been known for difficulties in alignment.

Moog part number is K6256 if you decide to go that way.

jcblue, what shop are you using. I've heard good things about Randy's Automotive in Hoptown. That's where I'm taking mine as soon as I can get there.
