I cant see it being to hard to make one, you need to be good on a welder or know someone that is and be good with fabbing things of course.

I've had the push bar for some years, it was used and I honestly can't remember where it came from.
Treveiger, I think it's a shadow???

Here's mine. Before and after. It was a two piece but I took the outer bar off.

They're real easy to make. I made one for the '69 Power Wagon I had. First of all, they never made them for that truck.Second,I had 4" tube for bumpers. And third,I wanted mine tougher after seeing guys bend and mangle theirs up. Rather than 1/4" side plates,I used 3/8" and added the 3rd one at the bottom that most didn't come with. The tubes were 2.5" schedule 40 instead of " thin wall. I also made it shorter to come up to mid-grille just because I thought that would look better, especially since the grille had a horizontal break there.
I should remove the one on my shortbed and make a patter for the bumper contour so guys can make their own. That's the only thing challenging about it. You could extend it beyond the bottom of bumper and back to mount any way you want, but have a good reference point at the bumper.

That would be awesome. I would want to mount it to the frame also just so its stronger.

Re: 67-72 Chevy's with push bars or grill guards!

I just built this one for my '72 GMC 3/4 ton 4X4. I mounted to the frame with 2-1/2 inch and 2-9/16 inch bolts on each side. It is pretty solid.

Yay! I found one and now it's just a matter of getting it to me.

My dad will flip when he sees it on his old truck but it's easy to take back off and might save me the grill in case some idiot backs into me or a deer suicides.

Re: 67-72 Chevy's with push bars or grill guards!

I feel that the 71 and 72 grills are very weak, I am happy to get a guard to protect mine. I plan to powdercoat it white.

Re: 67-72 Chevy's with push bars or grill guards!

I have found push bars to be very useful when it comes to smashing my way through DUI checkpoints.

I bought 2 sets of NOS bumper guards (first thing bought on this site) and later saw where a member had found a Luverne grill guard in a junkyard and I bought it from him. I'll put one or the other on my truck when the time comes.

The grills on the '71 and '72's are so fragile, I feel a grill guard is very useful if for nothing else than keeping the deer from bashing those to bits when they make their suicidal dashes across the road at night.

Yes it is. I removed the expanded metal and added a middle bar so I could open the hood. This one was on a 70 chevy.
