Re: rear disc conversion usin caddy calipers

I'd pm member Captainfab - he makes caliper brackets and may be able to answer some of your questions. Keep in mind mc must be dual res (should be approx. equal size) and same size line throughout (3/16 should probably replace the factory 72's rear 1/4" lines) to make all the proportioning in the adjustable range. Adjustable prop valve recommended (not just distro block) as factory did not make any 4 wheel disk setups on these trucks and bias may need to be adjusted. An early vette 4 wheel disk mc may be the mc for you - but, again, I'd check with CaptainFab. Also, keep in mind that MOST 4 wheel disk kits/setups are for 1/2 ton trucks - and that the connections to the master are reversed when compared to the 3/4. Bottom line, whichever mc you go with, make sure you know which res/outlet is for the front and which is for the rear brakes - it's not always obvious. Even with 4 wheel disks, I believe there is SOME internal proportioning that goes into the piston displacement inside the mc, phasing front/rear correctly, not just pressure differential (in addition to what you set with an adjustable prop valve). May not be an issue, but just some things to think about. Can also check out Blackbird Customs at http://blackbirdscustomtrucks.com/ (they MAY be out of business though)

Also, good threads located here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=481248 and http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=603827

Not sure what you are asking regarding mc vs wheel studs.

Re: rear disc conversion usin caddy calipers

your telling me no one has done this? And no one remembers what the used in parts I know if o did a conversion I would wright down everything I have used with yr and part numbers... there got to be someone out there that remembers what they used. I am asking what they used for the rubber brake line that goes to the caddy calipers to the hard line and how long, e-brake cables what did you used for the e-brake cables, what master cylinder did you use or do I really need one is the stock one good enough? and what size/how long wheel studs do I need to mount the rotor to the hub? thanks....
