Re: 59 El Camino

OT for this section but one of my favorites as I bought one the day before my first born was born. I'd love to have another one if I had the money and time to work on it.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: 59 El Camino

Always thought a 348 would be a great motor for the truck, but they are expensive to rebuild.

Re: 59 El Camino

348 alone may be worth grabbing...they bring big money when I've seen them for sale

Re: 59 El Camino

The 348 stick setup would be nice but the Elkie sounds too far gone for my repair skills.
The design made them prone to rust back under the front of the bed where they used the floorboards out of the sedan or two door wagon. At least on mine in 1970/71 it was.
