Aug 2011 was my start date. I have more patience than I have dead presidents. So I have to go slow n easy.

Cab n doors now two toned. Wheel n column got it's share also. Every bug in the state visited me during the paint process.
Found a unbeliveable mouse nest inside the old heater. Didn't know a rodent could pack so much stuff inside such a small area. All in told 8 hand fulls of cotton n paper.

Heater boxes, floor vents, E-brake handle, wiper rods, n other misc stuff received a make over.

guess I need to make time to come down there and help get the cab back on the frame so you can play with the bed now

The replacement driver's side bed is in 2K along with the cab cowl ready for final paint. The two front fenders are close to ready for primer also. Surprisingly, wasn't as bad as I remembered. Close to working on the bed soon. Possible to have the major paint finished except for touch up before the first freeze. Currently the humidty is above 50% staying around 56% much too high for getting good results. And painting late at night isn't worth the effort in my redneck operations.

Anyone know anything about Dophin Fuel gages? Thinking I would like one of these setups but not interested if it requires changing the sending unit in my Boyd tank.

Should work fine.

On the fuel sending unit you know it just needs to be 90 ohms. The meter does not care only the sending unit itself is what controls the signal.

Yes, just trying to confirm their gauge is 90 ohm or something different. I know some have used their gauges curious if they will work on a 90 Ohm sender.

In that case, I'd be using that "Ask a Question" link on that auction. If spending that kind of money on it it's part of their job to know what it does and doesn't work correctly on.

After some research. I found out the setup does use a 90 Ohm sending unit. However from what I have read their was a issue with lighting on some of the setups. But don't know if that issue was ever solved. The eye appeal is good, price isn't out of line, but functionality is also important. So I will remain open on other ideas at this point.
Ordered another gallon of 2K primer, front clip should get primer this weekend. Holding off on the beige until the heat and humidty returns to managable standards again.

he has a freshly rebuilt 283 with 5.7L vortec heads, gm factory serpentine setup, a holley 650 carb, looking for an aftermarket intake currently to put on it.

Planning on 4 core Rad with dual electric fans w/ custom shroud similar to what is in the GMC. Tranny wise depends on what shows it's tail first Turbo 350 or an older powerglide.

Thanks for the comments. Not perfect by no means but decent with a lot of man hrs so far.
Today sorted a cab wiring harness out repaired some bad places but over all now decent. Also assembled both doors of windows, completely rebuilt the wings yesterday (one the hardest things for me to do). Leaving only the swipes and inner door panels. During operational check of the driver's door the window regulator started acting up. It will need replaced when I get the parts. Passenger side works smoothly.
Received a package with another gallon of 2K primer to finish up the truck. Possible to get a couple of coats on the two front fenders. Pop's is going to fill the GMC molding holes with welds tomorrow. Weather man claims a heat break mid week next week to low 80's. Will try n shoot the two front fenders, cowl n hood. Then attempt to start on the 6 ft bed. Soon as I can get some help moving cab n stuff around anyway. First indications are some serious repair around the external right rear wheel well. Already have the driver's bed side in primer for a swap. Looking at three weeks work on the bed inside n out at least.

Thanks. Not this year. I really hate missing it too becoz we always have a great time too.

Got the first of the 2K primer on the front fenders today. Pops done a great job on welding the trim holes. It needs a 2nd coat after some light sanding.

Im trying to get away to come help but 102 degrees doesnt allow for much outside work when you are spoiled with a job that makes you sit in the AC for 12 hours a day.

Kinda like to 'rough' it a bit outside any chance I can get to be out in ANY garage and in any temperature since I don't have one myself.
