found out why tow hooks are on backwards

Because they won't go on the other way... so the question is drill new holes or do without?? Did earlier models not come predrilled for tow hooks??

Re: found out why tow hooks are on backwards

They don't go on backward, you are looking at them backward.
They go on the way they do (forward?? backward??) to keep the tow rope/strap/chain on.
I would drill the holes and put them on right.

That looks like a 67 frame, so you should be using the 60-68 tow hooks. Not the 69-72 hooks that you have. The pre-69 hooks should fit with no extra drilling.

I agree, definitely not a 69-72 frame. The 60-68 hooks should bolt right up.

Re: found out why tow hooks are on backwards

Shouldn't be a problem finding a good set of 60-68 hooks, they run about 175.00 for a nice set and the 69-72 style you have usually bring around 300.00, I would think you should be able to work out a trade and come out with some loot to boot.

Re: found out why tow hooks are on backwards

Sir Fisher, I was about to provide you a link to the 60-68 hooks that are for sale, but I see you just bought them. Any chance you are willing to sell you 69-72 hooks for what you just paid for the 60-68 hooks? PM me.

Thanks
Jim
