Not sure for 02, but for previous years there were standard and heavy duty braking systems designated JB6 and JB7. I usually go on the auto zone website beforehand and look for any special fitment / application notes. The codes should be on a sticker in your glove box.

Well - within the Silverado family there are 3 different series (1/2, 3/4 and one ton), 2wd and 4wd, three different cab types, two different box lengths, seven different power trains and dual rear wheel vs single. Some of those models can share a master cylinder but it takes several different part numbers to cover that breadth.

Need more detail. I have the engineering release brake charts - Please tell us the model, brake system or GVW of your truck and I can tell you what you need.

K

PS - Is there a part number or sticker on your existing master cylinder?

That is the part number for the reservoir only. Look on the aluminum part for a part number.

More details on your truck? 1500/2500/3500? How many wheel drive? What engine. JXX codes in the glovebox?

The Jxx RPO codes from your SPID are important. JB5 JD7 etc...
That's one of the pieces of information Kieth was asking for along with GVW and 4wd or 2wd and cab/bed size

Well done; unfortunately I have to apologize as I pulled the book down and it only goes to model year 2000.

I can say that in 2000 a 6400 lb GVW equated to a JC5 brake system, so I would take an educated guess and say you are a JB5 system.
