14 bolt dually diff ,04 has no front pinion bearing

I assumed all Corp 14 ff had the "pilot" bearing on the front of the pinion gear however I just looked at one 15 mins ago that did not. Do some not have that or there different ff 14 bolt difs?

I don't think the 9 /2" gear did. All the 10 1/2" geared units I've taken apart have had the pilot.

Negatory. The newer 14 bolts went to an 11.5 gear and lost the pinion support bearing. (I assume the pinion support is what your talking about. They changed somewhere around 01. The strength between the 10.5 and 11.5 14 bolts is supposed be about the same.

Yes! I learned this today, the one I found is a short WMS so it also measured 42 1/2 so my 72 will drop right on the perches. Disc brakes,373 gears and the center dif is HUGE.

So I guess this will work well for my dually conversion.

Re: 14 bolt dually diff ,04 has no front pinion bearing

You've gotten good info from the other guys. The 11.5 Aam axle does not have the bolt on pinion support as you have seen. It is not a FF 14 with the 10.5" ring gear and removeable pinion support.

More info on dually rears: Most square body dually' swerve Dana 70 HD. The cab and chassis trucks usually had the FF 14 as the installed diff. I have both an 86 K30 with the 70HD and an 85 CnC with the FF 14. It's amazing how much wider the 70 is as well.

Yea the original one I bought to replace the dana 60 is a 70 hd and its like 76' WMS so I'm stuck with a extra dif atm, the AAM is much shorter I think we measured 68 ish so that tucks the outer dually wheel in better.

I read the AAM is stronger than even a 80 however we all know people argue over whats better than what. I will say I can beat the disc brakes,11.5 gear,373's and shorter WMS it seems a better dif for my project anyway.
