Troubleshooting Direct tv? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

My power flickered, and now my DVR wont fire up. I have gone through the basics. Reset, remove card, unplug ect. The power button comes on. The player says "Setting up, please wait" then it flickers and goes blank. The center button has a band of lights that normaly comes on, but now it dont.

I know I should call tech support, but figured before I spend an hour on the phone with someone in nigeria I'd check here first. Thanks

I also have Direct TV and on my DVR there is a red button behing that little door on the front you push and it takes a little while but then everthing is OK. Now I have the newer model that just came out a while back. But this always works for me.

We haven't had that issue with the DVR but we had one of the small converters do that and the reset button *did* clear the problem.
