Re: Show us you're seats

Diamond pattern mexi blankets. I used two of them and ziptied them to the frame. I like it as a $35 temporary fix.

Re: Show us you're seats

DMWPHOTO,

Im a big believer in the less is more concept when it comes to my vehicles...

And man your interior hit it on the head and is beautiful, very tasteful and cool looking....Does the Monte seats have special rails you needed to mount to them?

I wanted bucket seats in my '61
but the back of seat would "bump" rear wall of cab making it uncomfortable to have to sit up right....GREAT WORK!!!

Re: 3rd row seats from a 01-06 Yukon/Tahoe you used. Did you use the mounting brackets from the 3rd row donor, so they can be removed?
Thx!

Yes, I built mounting brackets so the seats can be pulled out like suitcases if I don't want to use them.

Re: Show us you're seats

Just got this puppy back from the upholsterer's about 2 weeks ago. I actually used this thread to show him what I'd like. B/W Houndstooth on Duck cloth (should make it bearable in the humid summers!).

Here is the seat in 61 GMC. New factory correct fabric. I had the shop use soft boat vinyl for the sides, and use the factory French seams and pattern.

You did such a great job in tracking down your truck it's too bad you couldn't do the same with the seats. I'd love to get my hands on some of those but the way the prices have gotten I don't see it happening unless I just happen on to one of those "once in a lifetime finds". I keep looking, though.

Just do a search of my build and you will find it there. I just kept moving and mocking up til I got them where I wanted them then made them work. The left and right seats are on 1.5" blocks and the center mounts were cut and turned to the inside so i could mount them to the hump and make it even with the other two. I'm 5' 10" so this setup would work with just anyone. However the adjust up and down some.

Re: Show us you're seats

Picked up these beauties from C/10 King today. He made me a deal I couldn't pass up. I know they're stock GMC's, but they'll be perfect in my '66 Chevy. I plan on dropping them off at the upholsterer next week and will post final pics when they're done.

Re: Show us you're seats

A couple of you guys referenced using Dodge seats. What are they from? I am interested only in factory seats with a center console/3rd seat which have the sliding seat tracks, so front seats only w/ built in shoulder seatbelts. Also, I am assuming that most of these installs require pulling the fuel tank. What are you guys using to replace it with. Someone mentioned a mid 70's blazer tank. Does that go in the back between the frame rails? How much work is needed to make that fit and where does the fill spout go?
