rear tank with lower springs
Went thru the threads but didnt find my answer.
Recent truck I purchased has 5" CPP springs and the bump stops are about 1 inch from axle. If I mount a rear tank from CPP, Im assuming that the bump stops will read on axle tube. DO I HAVE TO DO THE MINI C-NOTCH OR CAN I GO WITH A HEAVY DUTY SPRING TO ACCOMADATE THE WEIGHT OF A FULL TANK? Any help is appreciated |

With only 1" to the bump stops I would do a C notch, or you will be slamming your axel on the frame every time you go over a bump. The ride will be terrible and you will not be happy.

That's not enough suspension travel in that particular case, regardless of spring rate. Not only will it be highly uncomfortable, but it will be dangerous. I would C-notch the frame if you plan to lower the rear that much.
