the 69 in the works

well a little over a month ago i bought a 69 lwb chevy truck just going off of a picture. i was told it ran but needed a fuel pump. the truck showed up on a trailer a few days later and i couldnt have bought a better truck so i thought. the body and condition of the truck was excellent with signs of rust anywhere.

Nice looking truck. Is it as rust free as it looks?

Re: the 69 in the works

heres a little update on the truck. i spent a few hrs on getting it running and long behold it had a rods knocking. so i pulled the 350 out and sent it to the machine shop for some upgrades. everything new was installed crankshaft, pistons, rods etc......, i ended up going with a 282 cam shaft, double roller timing chain, high volume oil pump, an edelbrock chrome intake, with a 600 holly carb and some chrome valve covers.

got it all put together and literally drove it for like 30 miles and overheated it and blew the heads off (back on the trailer it went). so today i figured i would go ahead and upgrade those too since i was taking them off anyways. i ordered some ProComp aluminum high performance heads and some light weight roller rocker arms and hardened push rods as well.

Re: the 69 in the works

the only spot of rust ive found so far was under the hood on the front of the fender near the radiator support.
