1969 C10 CST LB to SB build (Harold)

I just picked up a very solid 1969 C10 LB CST for a new build. A little back story is a bought a 1952 Chevy 3100 to do a project with my son and it has been at a body shop for over 2 years now waiting on floorpan, and rocker work. I recently ordered a No Limit retro 8 chassis for that and a LS 525 w/4l70E package from GMP. I realize now that the 1952 project will not provide much father son time due to the way its being built so I picked up this truck. This truck was sold in NE ohio in 1969 and I have all the original paperwork, it was undercoated every 2 years by the original owner. I am planning on converting it to a short bed and motor, trans and suspension are up for discussion I want to complete this truck by this spring stay tuned so it begins.

So we picked up the truck on Thursday, so Saturday night we worked on removing the bed, and some of the interior.

Sunday morning time to get the cab of stripped, and ready for hydroblasting. we started this about 10 am and 5 hours later it is all stripped and ready for blasting. This project went pretty fast as I had my son, and my wife helping to take things apart.

We spent a total of about 8 hours on the teardown, luckily not 1 bolt was needed to be cut out they all broke loose for us.

Re: 1969 C10 CST LB to SB build (Harold)

So here is where I need some input, I need to figure out the chassis work, I am looking at a no limit wide ride and trailing link, a CPP deluxe chassis kit with their disc brake package, and the hotchkis, and ride tech packages. I want the truck to handle good, but drive very comfortably. I want a pretty simple bolt in kit that will get the truck lowered to a better stance but that is fully updated. Also I am still working out the engine options and paint scheme, I will either go with a 383 or a connect and cruise 376/480 package. I would appreciate any advice on where to go with the suspension as that is what I need to get parts for to start the build up.

Great looking build. All those companies make great bolt on parts. I am personally a fan of a good coilover system paired with sway bars. This way you can firm up the suspension however you see fits your driving style. And don't forget about a good brake upgrade if the boy will be driving it much.

That's what I am looking for is a Coilover setup as I don't want to ride on air. Also will be upgrading the brakes all the way around as well. I just want to get parts that can be shipped quickly as I have my other chassis coming the end of November for the 3100.

I looked at ridetech stage 2 it is 1 I am considering, its the most expensive when you add brakes and steering upgrades but looks like a great kit

Pretty darn rust free a small hole in each rocker, inner rockers are perfect. I will see Thursday as the cab is being dustless blasted but the best cab I have seen from an ohio truck.
