Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build

damn! your rear looks way cool! keep on it!

I like the idea of your cross-member, but it needs to be able to be installed if someone has the cab still on the truck, IMO. (cant drill the holes for the top of the frame rail with the cab on it) what if you measured the overall width inside of frame to inside of frame and then backed off about an inch. then you could finagle it in there with some gap and then use some kind of spacer on each side????? if that make sense???

if it is the same width as the frame rails im pretty sure you would end up beating it in and out?????

im still thinking of some other ways. ive seen a bunch of xmembers that are as wide as the inside on the framerails and people seem to love em.

I just want it to be super easy to remove, thats all...

i think its funny that im responding to you on here and texting you about tires at the same time lol

Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build

Small Update Today....Got some parts back from my waterjet guy, Bent em up on the CNC press brake, Tacked em together, and Uh oh the parts dont fit

Measured wrong on the shape of the leafspring pad. Ok, simple fix. get out the grinder and make it work. Problem solved. Rear end in place and working.

Front: Fat fingered the bolt dole dimension and made it an inch too big, Thats just gonna get recut because its pretty much screwed.

But that aside it looks badass so far, got a little tweakin to do and some material to get but it will be 4-linkin in no time

Looking good. How come not just weld the axle bracket right to the axle, and get rid of the u-bolts and spring plate?

Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build

ok guys,

I need your thoughts...Panhard vs. Watts?

Panhard bar:

Simple, cheap, easy to install, minimal parts, side to side movement throughout travel

Watts Link:

Strong, minimal side to side movement, "cool factor"
More moving parts, More expense

any thoughts?
