Big price for an ebay truck??

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181304522731...84.m1423.l2649

I dont want to offend, and dont get me wrong i really like the truck. But is it really worth $20k? it is making me want to put my truck up on there to see what it would bring.

Re: Big price for an ebay truck??

I like the truck, but...there are a few things I dont care for. Which means to me that its not worth 20,000. For that kind of money it would have to be exactly what I wanted or I'd have to spend more to make it what I wanted. ..just my two pennies. But again, it is nice though. Not bashing it

Re: Big price for an ebay truck??

thats a really nice truck and all, but i see alot of....iono... chuffa. theres alot of chuffa in there. whats chuffa you ask? ever heard the phrase "you can put glitter on an ugly chick but shes still ugly" well, chuffa would be that glitter. its filler, fluff, at times meant to distract and keep you focused on anything but what your actually dealing with. its putting bright shiny expensive semi useless things on an old field truck and calling it a $20,000.00 "custom".

a 250 with supposedly 100k on the clock turning a 700r4 and air conditioning, an 8 inch dvd player? billet steering wheel? ostrich leather seats??? ( that actually made me go ooo, lol ) ok so they dropped it, notched it, put a small rockford fosgate stereo, discs in front, yadda yaddda, its a really nice truck, sure. but not $20,000.00 nice, unless of course shes had her intensive therapy to get all the cancer out, and that 250's been completely rebuilt.

i still cant understand the why behind the 8 inch dvd player. if it did GPS as well, why not.... im just reminded that 2 tons of steel with no power anything takes some attention to maneuver safely, and how many of us can say we were never in an "almost" cause someone wasnt paying enough attention to what they were doing.

again a real nice truck, but just too much chuffa for me, either that or possible scam. just my $20,000 worth.

I love how the truck looks. I thought possible scam also. Seems weird that there is not any under hood shots. I am in awe if it really sold for that much

Re: Big price for an ebay truck??

I've always wondered just how many of the big dollar ebay deals actually end up with money/truck changing hands. There are a ton of hobbyist bidders out there who have neither the means nor the intent to follow through.

You can be sued for entering a bid and failing to purchase , it is a real contract and should be treated as one .

Easy to say but nonpaying bidders happen all day long on that auction site and I bet very very few are ever pursued.

Re: Big price for an ebay truck??

I have bought and sold vehicles on eBay. Ask the seller a LOT of questions with RUST being topic number one. If you are the high bidder do not send any money until you inspect the truck AND the TITLE. Make sure the title is in the seller's name and not just signed over to him by the previous owner. If everything does't add up you can honestly walk away from the deal and you have only spent airfare or gasoline to go see it for yourself. If you put up a deposit immediately after bidding closes the seller is under no obligation to return that. Well, maybe a moral obligation but good look with that if he has already misrepresented his truck.

If you don't like what you see when you show up you also have the option to renegotiate.

Hard to say what the next sale will bring. I've bought and sold quite a bit on eBay. Sometimes there is a little magic and a buyer comes along with more money than sense.

I sold one truck about 6 years ago and the winning bidder's name sounded like a terrorist or something similar. I just figured I'd have to re-list the truck but early the next morning I had a message from the buyer wanting to wire transfer the full amount. When my bank opened I had them set up the transfer with his bank and the deal was done in an hour. The buyer was a dealer in Kuwait. I drove the truck to the Port of Houston and never saw it again. He handled all the paperwork necessary to get it scheduled for the trip.

also USMC but 1959-60
