Re: Plans for your trucks this year?

My truck was down from March till September last year. New engine, power steering, 3.08 rear ended swap, 15x8 rear wheels & a chassis freshen up.
This year just hope to drive it.

Re: Plans for your trucks this year?

My goal by the end of this year is to have a truck that has been driven hard and fully shaken down. I'm hoping to have it reliable enough to be a daily driver. I don't expect to have the exterior painted by then but I do hope to have the panels straight and gaps fairly even. In order to get there, these are the steps required...

1. Get driveshaft ordered, install when arrives.
2. Get front clip out of barn and disassemble. Clean, repair, paint core support.
3. Mount cab and core support onto chassis.
4. Install reworked L83 wiring harness on engine.
5. Re-install air management system.
6. Install radiator, battery, hoses and essentials to fire engine.
7. Paint inside of cab and jambs.
8. Install sound deadening on floor, doors, and back of cab.
9. Install new CPP tilt column.
10. Install new brake booster, master cylinder, brake pedal, add DOT 3 and bleed brakes.
11. Install original wiring harness, starter switch, Dakota Digital gauges. Find a wiring guru to check my work and run tests.
12. Install Vintage Air HVAC system.
13. Install bench seat.
14. Finish plumbing fuel system.
15. Fire this puppy up.
16. Install bed, doors, fenders, grille, hood, all glass, headlights etc.

I figure if I take the time to write out whats needed, the next time I find myself scratchin' my head, wondering what to do next, I can just pull up this thread and remind myself. Yes, this happens regularly.

Re: Plans for your trucks this year?

I thought about that a little bit today. If, IF, I can just get it running and moving to the point that I can get it out of the garage, I will be very happy. Then I can clean out and renovate the garage, which is badly needed.

I may end up selling or renting my house and for that to happen with any sort of profit, that garage needs to be updated a great deal.

1. Replace the Holley O2 sensor that failed. Likely adjust the angle so it's more vertical in the exhaust pipe.
2. Have a couple rock chips repaired. Need to find a good painter around Calgary.
3. Drop the truck off at a reputable shop to help sort out why a claimed 430hp engine did 14.5 seconds at 90mph at the drag strip. Could be the engine or the transmission (new TCI 700R4).
4. Apply replacement wood grain decals on the grove compartment and around the gauges.
5. Improve the brakes, either via the electric vacuum pump I bought or another way.

On my 1970 blazer, install the new carpet I bought. Install the new window trim I bought.

Re: Plans for your trucks this year?

Well after taking almost all of 2018 off from my truck to do a LS swap and other stuff to my step dads 71. I'll be getting back on my '67 build, hopefully have a rolling chassis and most the rust repair done by spring.
