454 rod cap / damaged?
Removed pistons and rods from engine and found 2 rod caps that have a notch out of them; not the bearing tab.
The additional Notch is to the right of bearing notch in photo Damaged? |

I wouldn't think so. Granted it's been over 20 years since I built an engine, but the bearing would cover that up. Plus not really enough to affect anything.

I don't know why it is there but I don't see an issue with using them either.
