sun visor question.
just doing some last minute sanding and primering on the 58 interior and something just smashed me in the face like a dogs ba.... I don't have the mount holes for the passenger side sun visor. its full metal beneath according to my magnet ....
is that normal? |

QBR, these were an option item, but most weren't actually sold with them (just like a passenger side mirror). There is a small indention marking the center of the hole, which needs to be drilled out with a 1 1/4" hole saw. Then place the visor frame up and mark to drill small screws holes.

I made a template of the driver side and mirrored it to the passenger side. I do not recall seeing a small indent, but I may have covered in during cab interior body work. The screw holes need to be accurate for the visor arm to be parallel with the floor thru the arc as it swings from the window to side lite. I drilled the big hole first and checked alot before drilling the screw hole since I was dealing with a painted cab.

You can see the indention on your 2nd photo. That marks the center of the 1 1/2" inch hole you need (to drill) to insert the visor (internals). Like Orrie said, you need to make certain your 3 mounting holes are properly aligned. I would mount the driver's side and then hold the passenger's side up making sure the bar is horizontal (as in the driver's), mark holes, drill for screws.

Thanks for the replies guys. The old owner supplied 2 visors so i guess he never got around to fitting it was all.
I just filled that dimple too.... I plan on running an external visor so I probably mount just the drivers to start with and see what it looks like from there. Q |
