Off blocks and out in the sun!!
Made a bit more progress today. Got the battery box sandblasted and powdercoated and installed. Also finished up the linkage for the B&M shifter so it is operational. Getting closer to "fire in the hole". Hope you had a good day.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Got an issue with my distributor and some wiring to figure out. Figure about two full days of work to get that done. Will make a trip to the exhaust shop to hook up the manifolds to the FlowMaster system (it had headers on the small block) and we should be ready to light it off. I'll keep you posted.

i started stripping and painting everything for my new front end today(a arms, spindles ,cross members).Most progress i made in a while.Nothing better than fixin up trucks on a sunny day!!

The seats are out of a 2001 Silverado. Picked them up at a local truck salvage yard. They refer to them as "takeouts". Yard buys them from a local dealer when the dealer customer wants a leather interior. They were brand new and have build in shoulder belts. |

I would really like to see some more detailed pics of the seats installed. I am about a month away from buying and installing a new set of seats in my '67 and am sold on the '99-up seats. I bought my wife an '02 and really like how the seats feel, plus I like the built in shoulder harness. Did you have to modify the seat frame/brackets any, or was it a pretty straight forward install? It appears that they should install quite easily.

To install those seats you must remove all the existing mounting brackets...die grinder on the rivet heads works great for this. Align, mark and drill new holes. The rear outboard mounting point needs to be shimmed up about 1/4 inch...a couple of thick flatwashers should do. The other mounting points may need about one washer each to ensure the slides do not hangup on your carpet, depending how thick it is.

Seats cost $500 from Walt & Verns Truck parts yard in Buckley, WA. I will take some more pictures from different angles tonight and post them for you that are interested.
