Definately a 44. Someone probably took the 60 out years ago to build a rock crawler of some sort.

Custom 1987 GMC Crew Cab Short Bed
Yep, it's a 44... The previous owner sold the Dana 60....
Now, as far as a Dana 44 being a weak axle... Give me a break (Ha, ha). I have never seen a broken Dana 44 unless it was in a rock crawler... Any "Talented" person building a crawler would laugh at the idea of using a crew cab 1 ton truck... So, now the smart A#$'s are going to post photos of crew cab crawlers. Here is the equation: Light, low, equally distributed weight + short (But not to short) wheel base = Crawler Here is what I have: Extremely nose heavy + long wheel base = Christmas tree getter, and a "Pavement Princess". Yep, I said it! I'll leave my wheelin' up to my land cruiser, and the cruisin' up to my Chevy... So here are a few update photos: Installed front 8" skyjacker springs, and wheels... |
