Body? Question
I've just gotten all of the old bolts drilled out that were holding down the plywood in the back of the 54 panel. There is a series of metal strips that run along the side that the plywood is tucked under. It doesn't seem to want to budge. I've done a little light hammering on it but, haven't put the force to it yet.
Is it some how tacked on (I can see any signs of welding or pressing) or was there some form of adhesive they used back then?

I thought they were part of the inner wall. hmm not sure how that would come out. Have you posted this on the Stovebolt pages?

FWIW,
I really doubt there is any welding or pressing. From the pic it almost looks like the metal strips are rusted to the side panels? Also check under the bed for any hidden fasteners. Just some suggestions. Denny |

I think they are spot welded. Like the corner beads inside a truck with a wooden floor.

Don't think there's anymore fasteners holder her in. I'm going to take a sander to her tonight and see what I can see.
thanks
