1/2 vs 1-ton panels - same rear bumper?

I have an opportunity to get a rear bumper, brackets and valance for my panel truck, but it's on a 1-ton (I think it's 1-ton, it has 8 lugs). Anyone know if the rear bumpers are the same as my 1/2-ton?

Should be the same size wise 1/2-1ton..the trucks larger than 1ton used a different front bumper but im unaware of these big trucks having a rear bumper and pretty sure they didn't make a panel over 1ton
And the panel may be a little different than a pickup

If I recall, panels use a front bumper on the rear..

yes, same bumper 1/2 to 1 ton, i believe they may be the same as the front bumper
same basic frame, same width, biggest difference in 1 ton is straight over the rear axle. no axle bump
panels use pickup frames and have rear frame extensions approx 1 foot, same for all panels

Re: 1/2 vs 1-ton panels - same rear bumper?

Well I spent the day crawling under a 1-ton panel truck removing the rear bumper and brackets only to get them home and discover that they are approximately 10 inches narrower than my 1/2-ton bumper brackets. WTH? $100 wasted, dang it. Here's a photo comparison :

Well I missed the thread earlier or I would have mentioned that and it is a wonder someone else didn't 3/4 ton and larger frame rails are pretty much straight all the way back from the front cab mounts to the back end while 1/2 ton spread out as you see.

MiraclePieCo;

How that you have the bumper just take the time to make your own bracket to fit the frame .
Then you have a custom fit bumper.
