Post shift kit install........stalled!

went out to the truck today all fired up to do the shift kit in my th350.lo and behold, i found that the front 2 bolts that are on the pan are blocked by the tranny cross-member.rest of the bolts no prob.dang,dang,dang!ain't no other way of doin' it neither,and you need to support the tranny when you get the cross-member of or you'll damage you're distributor!!ain't it always somethin'??ok,i'm done now!just a word to the wise,if anyone is gonna do this.

hmmm,that is a problem. did you install the th350 after it had a stick shift? because i just converted mine from 3 0n the tree to th350 and i hade to remove that front xmember,and i had to use a rear xmember,if yours is supported by the front stickshift xmember,do you have a dustcover on and is it hitting the bellhousing? these are just the probs i had,so i removed the front xmember.

Just unbolt the mount, and jack up the tailshaft a little. Then you'll be able to slip a 1/4 inch drive rachet in there to lossen the offending bolts.

Ran into the same problem when I went to change the fluid/filter on my TH-350. Managed to fit an open ended wrench up in there, and got 'em off with a lot of patience.
