Heres another original to add to the thread. I'll get some pics of the metal id tags as well since it has both the bottom seat and back seat tags. Came from a 65 I picked this weekend. I needed the deluxe seat for another 63 seat. The little brown mud dobber nests on the seat back will come off with no issue. Seat foam, springs and burlap are cherry!!! Still retains some of the plastic covering on the back bottom of the seat....no build sheet, already looked as I was going to leave it for the guy picking up the cab.

If you are going to use the seat in a 63 What are you going to do with the 65 cover ? I have my new material from SMS and looking for a pattern If you want to sell or rent it I am interested.

it will be a few months before im ready to take the cover off and have another 63 cover made. ive had a member contact me this morning who has asked to purchase the cover and ive commited it to him until he says otherwise. i belive his intentions are the same as yours and im sure he'd be able to help out. in the mean time i need the seat as is. i can get all the numbers and pics you want while its on the seat if it'll help any in the meantime. probably good to post anyways in case it'l help anyone else too.

i also have all the 63 deluxe seat skin measurements and good pics of a cover.

Ok when you have time some pictures with measurements of the sizes of the original layouts of the bottom and the back would be helpful. My original seat was reupholstered in the 80s style in vinyl so I don't have much to work with. Any help would be great. Your seat turned out great I like the blue combo

Heres a pic of the factory seat ID tag from Reynolds. Shows part #3769167 and date code 3-15-65. You can see the tag placement on the seat back in the middle of the pass side. I'll get some good numbers on the seat dimensions posted. Post #41 shows the 63 dimensions very good. I also have pics of a 63 deluxe cover removed in my build thread if anyone needs those for reference.

Does anyone have a good, original 63 custom comfort seat in the standard brown color (not red) in their truck? Seems I've never seen one, except maybe Aerotruck's (not sure if his is original or reproduction). Looks like there are still a few years missing from our 60-66 custom comfort seat collection here!

Fabric is NOS. The haircell vinyl is silver instead of the original Fawn. In 86 when it was done I didn't like the fawn color.

So are the '66 seat cover fabrics and patterns the same as the '65? What about the dimensions of the foam, etc? I have a line on what I think is a deluxe seat, but have not seen it in person, and won't for a few weeks. The guy who is selling really doesn't know what year it was from. I just want to know as much as I can before I look at it. I have the non-deluxe seat in my C20 and it is not really very comfortable. The foam may be old and deteriorated, so that might be it. But it needs to be reupholstered, anyway, so why not upgrade to the deluxe?Especially due to the fact that he only wants $60.

The seat cover designs changed every year, with the exception of 1965, which stayed the same as 1964. So, 1966 is a one year seat cover. I don't think seat structure or foam changed much for those three years, so the dimensions are likely the same.

Yes, the deluxe seat, but preferably from 64-65 for myself. That's a nice 63 seat! So distictive for that year!

No, not mine. Just happened to see the pic looking for something else. If I can find the original link, there were 2-3 other pics of the black 63.

These are the only other pics that were posted of the black 63 I posted the interior pics above of. Looks like it sold in 2013 for around $14,000.

Here's the rear seat in my 65 Suburban. Original cover just shtiveling up on the bottom framebut no damage. The back cushion cover was coming off the frame but I managed to re stretch it over the frame and clip it with original clips. I may try it with the bottom cushion.

Does anyone make the seat foam for the deluxe bench seat? It sure looks close to the 67-68 C10 bottom seat foam. Anyone try those yet?
