posi questions

are all factory 12 bolt truck posi's the spring kind? the two that I have right now are and I've looked at toms differntial and they hve replacemen springs/spring plates for fairly cheap. I'm tempted to get new springs and plates and installthem in an open rear if it'll work, anyone understand what I'm talkin about? done it? maybe I need to call toms dfferential.
thanks
Bryce

The open carriers and the posi carriers are completely different other than the fact they are both made out of steel. You cannot put the springs and clutches in an open carrier.

i know what you are talkin about but im almost completely positive the carrier itself is different between a posi and an open differential.so the open differential wont accept the posi springs to my knowledge
