Question Freon Capacity?

Searching has turned up nothing so far but I'll keep looking. In the meantime, does anyone know the original factory A/C system capacity for my '72 K20 with 350 engine?

I thought there was a sticker under the hood but now I can't find it. Thanks!

Re: Freon Capacity?

Most I've seen had 3.75# on the sticker on the compressor. However, my 69 originally had a sticker over the 3.75# that said 3.25# R-12.

Re: Freon Capacity?

Also, I have the original a6 compressor, does it cycle or run all the time?

Re: Freon Capacity?

There is a procedure in the manual for compressor oil called "Checking the compressor oil". You can do that if you are swapping out to determine how much oil. Refrigerant capacity is not the same for r134 either. I just put in 7oz the a6 came with 3oz. I didn't hassle with the procedure in the manual. I probably have too much oil. But the manual lays it out pretty good.
