Steering Column Clamp

I have a 70 fixed auto column and my entire steering column will move when I shift out of park. Does anyone have any pictures of the bracket that holds the steering column where it passes through the firewall into the engine compartment? Is there supposed to be a saddle or some kind of clamp that holds the tube to the bracket? Thanks for the help.

Re: Steering Column Clamp

Yes! That’s exactly what I’m missing. Does anyone know what that would be called or if any places sell it? I haven’t had any luck finding one in lmc or classic industry’s catalogs. I supposed I could just go buy a ring clamp or something at Home Depot.

Re: Steering Column Clamp

Well, a stout radiator hose clamp would probably do it. A salvage yard may be your best bet for an original part.

This looks like a good deal and it's not all rusty crusty.
