Is there any way to determine year of this 350?

Installed by PO early 2000's.

Codes don't match anything I can find online.

V0818tbd

c9z1 5

there may be a number in front of and after the 5, but they are really faint.

All I've been able to find from these numbers is that it was built in Flint. I've been told that the alternator on the passenger side is indicative of a late 70's version, not sure if that's true.

Trying to find proper bracket for adding ps pump.

For what you want to do the year doesn't really matter much (and won't really help). You have a long water pump with passenger side alternator. You need a p/s setup that matches your accessories. I would guess mid 70s w/o air conditioning. Truly your best bet may to buy a whole accessory setup-or at least matching brackets-so it will all line up and work together.

Internet research says you have a first gen 350 from a chevy truck, built in Flint, MI on August 18 1970,71 or 79.

V=Flint, 0818 is the date; TBD is the suffix code and translates to one of these:

1970 C10,20, 30 - 350, 4 barrel carb.
1971 K10 to 2500 - 350 255 hp. 4 barrel carb.
1979 K10 to 2500 - 350 LS9 165 hp. 4 bbl carb.

The other number is most likely the serial no.

Thank you all. Just talked to the little "classic" shop here in town and he says he has a giant bin full of nothing but brackets, and he can fab something if needed. I've decided to let him do my ps install. I'd only screw it up. Going with a 77 gearbox, after researching all the threads here everyone seems to think that gen bolts right in and has the variable ratio gears.

Hmmm, I wonder if it could be the 79. Now that geezer's link showed me where to look for the casting date, I'll have a look.

It's a 1979. The second digit of your partial VIN is for the last digit of the year. 9=1979 Your application code TBD can only be for 70,71 or 79. Also just having a partial VIN stamped on the pad shows late seventies.

I just realized you are up the road in Frisco - I'm in N Dallas near Frankford & Dallas N Tollway.

Which shop is this? I am needing to do a gearbox replacement soon as mine seems to be leaking.

Just for your information, Chevrolet quit using Chevrolet Orange in '77, anything after that all V-8s were Corporate Blue. That's one way of roughly guessing what possible year it was made.
