Dash change, thoughts/ feedback?

So I wanted to upgrade my interior. Went with some of the TMI products. Digging the slight change to dash pad. Got some new gauges. Thinking about changing the layout. I'm also looking for AC vents the same size as the gauges. Here is my first mock up. Thoughts? good bad or ugly is fine with me. I have a Lokar shift indicator that Ill probably mount above the two center gauges or below them.

Re: Dash change, thoughts/ feedback?

I dig it! I think the dash and wheel design works with the gauges. I like the TMI dash - looks good.

I do wonder how you plan to make the A/C vent work in that spot though.

What brand are the gauges?

Speedhut gauges. Ill be cutting the old back piece to make room for vents. It looks like the left side will be ok, but right side, might have to reinforce the dash metal somehow.

Re: Dash change, thoughts/ feedback?

Can you flatten a round tube to an oval to fit through the dash and use flexible hose to the vent?
Econoboxes from GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Subaru, VW, Mazda, ... may be sources of long thin-wall oval--ish dash vent tubes to slide through narrow spaces.

It's the true spirit of hot rodding. It doesn't matter where you find the parts as long as you can massage them to fit well, work reliably, and look good.

Re: Dash change, thoughts/ feedback?

I did something similar and looked cool for awhile but went back to a stock looking panel with recessed aftermarket gauges, I like it better now.

All get some pictures tonight. Here is a video of TMI full interior from LMC install. Dash starts at like 6 minutes.

can,t find the old but here is the new one in progress, need new lens. Don,t get me wrong, yours looks good but I just liked the semi original look. I just wanted aftermarket gauges as I spent too much money on the motor. My first one looked too race carish and and the dash looked too busy,to much stuff. I like the simple look,I just have to get rid of the air bag gauges some how on mine.

I like that pocket up on the right. I was thinking about putting one where the stereo is.

Re: Dash change, thoughts/ feedback?

You may regret that when the windshield fogs on cool spring and fall evenings.
