Well....hello again! 4L80E Question

Hi all.....been gone a while...but I have a follow up question concerning a 4L80E I am putting in my 90 K2500 Burb. I pulled the transmission and transfer case out of my donor 91 K2500 burb....I was going to pull the factory harness and controller for the 4l80E but have decided to just buy an aftermarket controller. Who in ya'lls opinion makes the best stand alone controller that is somewhat reasonable $5-650 and will i need ANYTHING from the 91 except the tranny/transcase, crossmember (just because it's still bolted up) and the dash cluster for the electronic speedo? Will the aftermarket controller and harness take care of all of the other needs? Thanks in advance......Pat

Re: Well....hello again! 4L80E Question

I did a 4l80 swap, researched a few and went with the TCI-EZTCU. It is an excellent product and is totally easy to install. I have my swap posted on this site just don't know how to link from my iPod. All you need is a throttle position sensor and an rpm module , the module comes with the kit. You have to get the tps separately but I think TCI can supply. I have wrenched for years and was worried about the electronic side, the TCI controller and instructions were simple. Still working great, love the product and handheld programability.
