Re: exhaust thry x-member question

I had an exhaust shop build my exhaust. I'm running a 2.5" exhaust so I believe the holes are around 3" in diameter. The X-member is not strengthened where the holes are cut.

Re: exhaust thry x-member question

Here's a couple of pics of my cross member through holes. I used 4 1/2" tube by 1 1/2" wide and 3/16" thick. I picked up the tube from a fab shop down the road from me.

Re: exhaust thry x-member question

Yes I did flip the truck arm mounts but I changed them back because I thought there was too much pinion angle when I got the suspension loaded to ride height.

Re: exhaust thry x-member question

These look great. We have an LS and that exhaust gets really hot... we also have air ride with nylon lines. Real hot + nylon lines = sudden leaks. If your plans include anything plastic/ melty in the area consider heat wrap or insulation/ heat shields.
