Steering box failure

Has anyone seen or had this happen? The end of the box housing split and pushed the snap ring and cap off. Only had a few hundred miles on this reman box from napa. Of course I lost my receipt and they couldn't find any record of a steering box being purchased by anyone... I suppose I'm just lucky it happened while turning around in my driveway.

Re: Steering box failure

I purchased mine also from NAPA about 5 years ago. Not a single problem so far.

Re: Steering box failure

Indeed lucky it happened where it did. Although I would've only lost power steering and I'm sure have burned up the pump. I don't blame napa, as there's only a few places that reman these things.
