Re: Wheel Opinions

The ones that are on your truck. I personally think that black wheels make a nice truck look like $hit! With that being said though, I know that black wheels are quite popular these days. I guess I'm just old school and still prefer shiny! BTW you have a very nice truck!

Re: Wheel Opinions

I'd have to agree. The wheels you have on there now are really nice. Those black wheels, particularly that style with the fake bead locks, are really played out (this coming from someone who chose perhaps the other most played out wheel for his own truck, large diameter steelies). Of course, if that's what you like then that point is irrelevant. I do think those black wheels would look pretty good, but I still think the current wheels look better. There's my opinion for ya.

I like the wheels on the truck. What size are they and what size of lift do you have. I'm in the tire and rim market also.

Re: Wheel Opinions

BLACK RIMS = GAY and over done . . . plus moto metal almost everyone has them .

the chromes you have now remind me of the old jackman steel wagon wheels from back in the day but with a bit of new age flair .

Pretty sure his chromes are moto metal. MO962.

However, neighbor has the black ones on his truck and they look weird. I like your chromes.

Re: Wheel Opinions

You asked for opinions. The wheels are fine the problem is the tires. Short sidewalls scream poser not wheeler. If your going to wheel it you better have some side wall or your day is done at the first bad spot. Just my two cents worth.

Yah, It definitely looks like he is setting his truck up for the off-road park...shame the guys with 18" motometal chromies and 33s on our trucks. Ain't nothing but a bunch of worthless mall crawlers.

It is 4x4. I built it. You guys are quite interesting. I inherited this truck from my grandfather and restored it to pass through the family. Not to off road. Get a life.

Re: Wheel Opinions

Plenty of mall crawlers with 37/12.50-16s and bigger running around. Some even have winches that never guy spooled out and hubs that never get locked in. There are 4wds built for many uses. Not all want a trail-worthy rig while never going anywhere near a mall. I like what I like and you like what you like. I use my 4wd for what I want and you use yours for what you want. Lots of 4wds around here, especially Jeeps, all set up with the good off road stuff...Hi-Lift jacks across the hood just waiting to fly through your windshield and bust your face (certainly not to be removed and mess up the paint), Cut-down fenders to throw rain mist and objects at other drivers, toothy tires to grip that pavement, etc. I don't go to malls, but I see them at the Safeway.

Lots of opinions on how to do it all. But this thread asked opinions between two specific wheels... that's it. I think most people would pick the first wheels since they look so much like the wagon wheels people love to hate . Even people who say they like period correct wheels on these trucks.

I'm always entertained by theses "Should I put crème in my coffee" threads... only to find out the OP is "lactose intolerant"!

Lol!! I asked opinions on wheeles, not to hear all the other non-sense. People have trucks that they restore and people have their trucks to off road. Its that simple. Im done with this thread.
