Daytime Running Light Questions
Hey guys, I have a 2000 GMC Yukon XL that's having some DRL issues. I've noticed that when one of the bulbs burns out, its ALWAYS the passenger side bulb. I got tired or replacing bulbs, so I replaced the OEM lights with a set of aftermarket LED parking lights. They lasted less than 3 months and then the DRL portion of the LEDs on the passenger side started to malfunction. Is anyone else having issues with their DRLs? Is it a wiring issue? Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Re: Daytime Running Light Questions
dude you are preaching to the choir on this one! i have changed the light on my tahoe a million times. i think the culprit is a little water inside the lens case. and i think it bumps up and hits it? do you have any moisture in your lens case? i also notice other people right drl as well is out!

Re: Daytime Running Light Questions
the best way i found is to clean the bulb with isopropyl alcohol and use a very clean cloth to install the bulb. Bulbs that have any amount of skin oil on them will burn out very quickly. 4114 LL bulb is the fitment bulb #

Re: Daytime Running Light Questions
Saturn had a huge problem with this issue on the ION. Engineering tried a lot of things. Ultimately a dropping resistor was installed for each DRL as the bulbs were simply overheating. Might be able to dig up the part number from your local Chevy dealer. Installed probably a hundred sets myself, but it was a kit that did not pay that much to install. So I don't have the number info handy, if at all. But it did look just like an old ignition ballist resistor.

Re: Daytime Running Light Questions
Thanks for the info guys. I currently have a set LED parking lights installed, so I'm not using the OEM lens or stock bulbs. I think its a set of Anzo LED parking lights. This is my second set, summit racing replaced them because they were still under warranty.

Re: Daytime Running Light Questions
Pull the fuse. problem solved. DTRL are unnecessary in my opinion. Mine did the same thing and I pulled the fuse.
