I cut it above the body line about 1 1/8" it will want to curve inward when you weld it! I butt welded it you should weld it 1" at a time and cool it down with air right away this pulling the metal back you may have to hammer & dolly it some! Or if there's no gap you can tig weld it then hammer the weld!

Looks good! I just came back from Grant Kustoms about an hour ago. Bob does some awesome stuff. He closed up the parts side of his business and will no longer be making sheet metal products for the general public.
